Great Day at Devens
By Jayme Coggin
It was a typical August morning, cool comfortable and crisp air. I woke up around 5 am to pack my gear into my 2007 Nissan 350z, once I was packed I was off! I was headed to Devens Airfield in Ayer Massachusetts to race in an Autocross event with the New England Region SCCA group. This was NER’s 7th autocross event of the year, but it was only my 3rd event. I had high expectations for myself going into this event, whenever I participate in something that is competitive, I want to have fun and win, it does not matter if it is my first time trying something or my 100th time doing something I want to have fun and win. In the first event I raced in, I placed 7th out of 17 in the novice class missing out on a trophy by one spot. It would not have been a win but it would have been awesome to come home with a trophy from my first autocross event, but no matter, I had a lot of fun. On to my second event….. click here to read on

2015 News from the Solo registration Chief
Hi Autocrossers… Here’s the beginning of the season news from NER Solo registration! For 2015, I will continue to send email reminders for each New England Region sponsored Solo Event (We will also continue to close registration at midnight on Thursday before each event). 2015 Events already set up (Calendar to be updated shortly):
Our first points event will be Sunday April 19th. Register here: Points 1 – Winter Tire Shakedown
Jr. Kart school will be offered Apr 18th. Registration is here but the $20 fee will be collected at the event Please register your child here: 2015 Jr Kart School
I’ve set up a new 2015 reserved # event since some classes are different. (If competing regularly, you should enter your car class and # here): Reserving your planned class and # for 2015 This has the 2015 NER classes including our regional CAM class, and a new provisional Heritage Classic class targeted at cars similar to last year’s G Prepared cars. When you enter your car class and #, it gives you priority to use that class and number all year and lets other people know the number is in use so we don;t have people picking your # before you register.
Before the season starts, please check and update your motorsportreg.com info
Sign in, click ‘my account’ , and edit your information. Add, update, verify your email address on file so you get the emails about the status of events you sign up for.
Check the emergency contact. If you ever do have an emergency on site, it would help us out to have someone we can get a hold of on your behalf.
For those rare times we need to call you or even find you on site, it would benefit us if you entered your cell phone # in the cell phone section.
Thank You, Barb Seeger – Registration Chief 2015
